Sangria Show Down

Tracy & I talk a lotta smack…We recently discovered a little competitive side with our Sangria recipes.  She swears her recipe is better than mine (blah, blah, blah).  So we thought we’d give you a chance to be the judge.   We’re sharing our recipes, you make them and declare one of us the winner.  Tough job, but we know you can do it!  (Hand Painted Glassware by Lolita Designs)

Jenny’s Sangria

(aka THE WINNER)

  • One Bottle of Cabernet
  • 2 shots Orange Curacao
  • 1 shot Lemon Juice
  • 2 shots White Grape Juice
  • 2 shots Orange juice
  • 2 T sugar
  • 1 Orange, 1 Lemon, 1 Lime

Slice fruit, add to bottom of the pitcher.  Pour all ingredients over top.  Chill for an hour or more… Bottoms up!

Tracy’s Sangria

(the only one you really need to try, but you can tell Jenny you tried hers too)

  • 2 bottles of inexpensive red wine- cabernet or malbec are my faves
  • 2 shots of brandy
  • 2 shots of Grand Marnier
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 green apple, 1 lemon, 1 orange, 1 lime (+ additional fruit for garnish)
  • 1 liter soda water

Slice fruit and add to the bottom of the pitcher (a big pitcher), squeezing some juice from the cirtus fruits.  Add wine, brandy, Grand Marnier, sugar and stir well.  Let the pitcher chill in the fridge about 3-4 hours.  Just before you are ready to serve add about 1/2 of the liter of soda water-more if you prefer.  Garnish & enjoy!  Believe me, you will not be disappointed with MY Sangria…every time I take it to a party, it all disappears!

Sangria makes such a refreshing summer drink, try our recipes and let us know what you think!

Like what you see?  Show us some sugar…
