Loco Kids: Sweet Treats at an Under The Sea Birthday Party

A few weeks ago my little boy celebrated his 2nd birthday with an Under The Sea themed party! Declan is obsessed with fish these days so this theme seemed very fitting. The possibilities were endless and I had so much fun planning this party.

Being a dessert lover, I knew we were going to have a dessert table full of yummy treats for both the big and small sweet lovers. The main focus was the Under the Sea cake made by Lena Kim from Schaffer’s Genuine Foods.

This cake was so good and gorgeous inside and out.  I wanted the inside of the cake to be an ombre’ blue  to tie in the water theme of the party.

We also had sugar cookies from The Cookie Jar  that were shaped like different adorable sea creatures. These were a hit and so good!

I tied in the fish theme by having various sweet flavored goldfish crackers like chocolate chip, s’mores and vanilla. I made “fish flakes,” a take on Rice Krispie Treats using Corn Flakes to resemble real fish food. They turned out great and so cute!

Completing the table were sea salt brownies, mini cupcakes from Hansen’s, caramel corn, homemade Marshmallow Pops and various blue candy. There was a little something for everyone!

Whether you go big or small with your dessert table, the options are endless. Be creative and tie in themed food for your party! It makes it that much more fun for your guests.

Check out all of the party details, including inviations and party activities at Alana’s blog, Life on the Mom List!

The whole spread is genius but it’s the inside of that cake that puts it over the top.
