“Have you ever had the Original Cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory.” Asst GM Michael asked me…. Dumbfounded, I looked at him like someone was holding a slice hostage, scared and shaking…”UM, NO?” (Then I ducked, expecting him to swing at me.) How crazy it sounded coming from my lips. Lips that have tasted so many of the options on the vast CF menu. So I tried it, again and again, until the slice had been properly tasted. My conclusion? The perfect consistency, creamy and velvety smooth, the Original Cheesecake is a MUST on the list to try – it all started with that recipe and I highly recommend you try it STAT! (that Sugar Loco speak for “get off your bum and go NOW!”)
Though I was sidetracked by the Original Cheesecake (which is everything except plain), I had my sights set on the Mango Key Lime Cheesecake, a newbie on the menu. I knew I’d love this one, but needed to try it (and repeat it several times) for myself. Note to self: If I ever need to ask for a last meal, it will definitely include this cheesecake. What is not to like: mango mousse on a vanilla coconut macaroon crust. That macaroon crust was something I could totally eat alone – chewy, yet crisp, with a layer of coconut.
I know that there are people out there who don’t care for coconut (gasp!), so I decided to choose you non-coconut-loving-friends your own slice of heaven. The Hershey’s Chocolate Bar Cheesecake is a favorite and fairly new to the menu as well (launching back in July 2011). Though it looks like a heavy hitting chocolate slice, I was surprised by how smooth and creamy this concoction was. A rich layer of chocolate cheesecake nestled between, moist chocolate cake, and smothered in chocolate frosting. Choco-heaven.
Like what you see? Show them some sugar…
