If you’ve been reading my reviews, you’ll know by now that I am a huge fan of funnel cakes and donuts. Yes FRIED desserts! Mmm, nothing better than walking a local street fair with powdered sugar covered fingers and a little fried dough. Or waking up on a Saturday morning to be greeted by rainbow sprinkles and chocolate frosting covered donuts. Yes, I AM A FRIED LOVER!
When my host at RA informed me that she would be bringing out their Cinnamon Tempura Gelato, I really didn’t know what to expect. Yes, I’ve had gelato before, big fan…but Tempura – Flash Fried Gelato? Can’t say I’ve had that one.
Sliced in four, their Japanese cinnamon gelato is packed in-between a dense pound cake, then tempura fried to perfection. They then drizzle it with raspberry and chocolate sauces, sprinkled with cinnamon.
This was like a funnel cake {flavor} inspired fantasy covered in ice cream. As if my favorite “fair” food just got bumped up to a class of elegance appropriate to be served in a restaurant. Thank you RA. Its like you snatched my dreams and drizzled them with chocolate.
