Our friend Valerie Rice over at Eat Drink Garden is always surprising me with her recipes that literally make me want to start licking my computer monitor. Her photography is one that makes you want to hop up and start doing something in the kitchen….not sure what exactly, but I feel inspired just being on her blog.
Today Valerie is sharing with us her recipe for a Blood Orange and Ginger Sorbet that I couldn’t help but salivate a bit thinking about how yummy it would be on our hot summer days.
Blood Orange and Ginger Sorbet

1 3/4 cup blood orange juice (5-6 oranges)
1/4 cup ginger simple syrup (recipe below)
Stir juice and syrup together. Transfer mixture to your ice cream maker and process according to manufacturer’s instructions.
Ginger Simple Syrup
To make the syrup:
1/4 cup peeled and sliced fresh ginger
1 cup of sugar
1 1/2 cup of water
Add the ingredients to the pot and stire until sugar dissolves. Leave the ginger pieces in and let cool. Store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
