Break Out the Bubbly with Cake Bubbles

I think any time is a great time to celebrate.  And when you’re around the Queen Bubble, Pam Hackbarth, of Cake Bubbles you’ll want to grab a handful of her confections and celebrate her amazing success with her (and in just 9 short months). I think I actually caught her jumping up and down and giggling while talking about new Cake Bubble flavors.  Too much sugar? Maybe…A TON of passion? Definitely.

Blueberry Cream Cake Bubble

I went to the Cake Bubble studios here in Denver, CO and was on a sweet cloud 9 with all the bakers and chocolate and goodness surrounding me.  Lucky me, I was able to chat with the enthusiastic Pam about her company and even got to film a little of the master in action (oh and of course she let me pop a few in my mouth – mmmm, mmmm, good).

SL: What is Cake Bubbles?
CB: Everything you love about a piece of cake all rolled up and dipped into fine chocolate, in turn promoting joy.

SL: How did you get your sweet start?
CB: My older sister came across the original cake balls a couple years ago.  I sat on the idea forever until finally one day decided to make a go of it.  I modified a bunch of my recipes and took the cake balls to a whole new (gourmet) level with 45 flavors.  My cake bubbles actually “pop” when you bite into them (seriously, they do..it is awesome!).

SL: Tell us something unique about Cake Bubbles
CB: We’ve sold over 10,000 Cake Bubbles in the last 6 months.  Our core value is supporting charities.  We are also big on creating for those with dietary restrictions (ie, gluten free, sugar free) – have a restriction?  Just email – we can probably make it for you!  We also don’t use fake coloring in our Red Velvet cake – I use my great grandma’s recipe which calls for red beet juice.

SL: What is the customer favorite?
CB: So many different types of customers, it varies on a daily basis. Kids love chocolate!  A great flavor is the Perfect White with French Buttercream and Italian Cream.  Our cookie flavors were really popular over the holidays too (Sugar Cookie, Peanut Butter)

SL: What is your favorite?
CB: The perfect white with french buttercream dipped in white chocolate…My grandma always told me “Darlin, if you know how to make a perfect white cake you can bake anything”.

SL: What does the future hold for Cake Bubbles?
CB: Expanding!  Into Oregon and California. Getting ready to launch a new line of cookies – Whoopie Pie Cake Bubbles!  (she actually squealed when telling me about these)

SL: If you were a dessert, what would you be and why?
CB: Slice of pecan pie!  With a little Chantilly Cream on top.  My mom is from the South, so I’ve got a little of that upbringing in me – a little nutty, very sweet, grounded, traditional.

Cake Balls come in 6 standard flavors and tons of premium flavors – they’re always creating more and more flavors (both are FAB-U-LOUS!).

Sweet deal – Call and order Cake Bubbles ( 720-320-6698), mention Sugar Loco and receive 2 FREE premium bubbles when you order a dozen standard.  You can order online and have a little joy shipped right to your door!
