I am sucker for an Irish pub. A wooden bar with a home-like atmosphere and welcoming vibe make for some of my favorite drinking experiences. It’s no surprise that the Irish Snug in Denver’s Uptown neighborhood has become one of my go-to stops.
This winter the traditional bar took their menu up a notch, incorporating everything their community craves: well-crafted and unique concoctions. The additions to the drink menu makes the restaurant and pub a standout among dive stops on the strip. Guests are now able to sample traditional cocktails such as an Old Fashions and Oak Mules (their take on a tradition Moscow Mule) following their usual pint of Guinness or vice versa.
New creations like Number 2 (El Tesoro Tequila, Campari, Amaro, Cardamom Bitters) and High Tea (Dancing Pine Gin, Black Tea Vanilla Syrup, Lemon) breath new life into the bar while keeping the establishment timeless in its characteristics. My personal favorite is a Chocolate Martini that uniquely pairs Colorado’s own, Breckenridge Vodka, White Creme De Cacao and little bit of Milk. It is the perfect pour for ending an evening on a sweet note.
If you are interested in stopping by the Colfax landmark for a sampling the drinks for yourself, mark your calendars for January 16th. The Irish Snug will be celebrating twelve years since their conception, benefiting the American Cancer Society. The party will feature U2 Cover Band, Under A Blood Red Sky and will be stirring up their latest creations for those craving something satisfying and sweet.
