Since beginning my writing career with Sugar Loco I find it really interesting that the most common dessert that I sample amongst the restaurants is Bread Pudding. The really interesting thing to me is the fact that each bread pudding has been so uniquely different its hard to believe they are all categorized as the same dessert!
Recently I had the pleasure of meeting Jason Goetz, manager of SOL Mexican Cocina in North Scottsdale. Seated along the relaxing patio area I was pleasantly surprised to hear that the dessert I’d be sampling was a Dark Chocolate-Banana Bread Pudding. DARK CHOCOLATE YOU SAY? I LOVE DARK CHOCOLATE! Hands down, Dark Chocolate is at the top of my list. Bring it on.
Served with fresh berries, cinnamon crema and chocolate sauce, SOL‘s Banana Dark Chocolate Bread Pudding was rich, dense and completely satisfying. Sometimes when you order something that has “banana” or “chocolate” in the description, you receive a dish that is overpowered by these flavors, but the beauty of this dessert was that the two not only complimented one another but were subtle yet distinct.
As I sit here and write I am actually craving more. Yes More! Topped with Whipped Cream and Drizzled with Chocolate, seriously, how could I not be craving more?
Like what you see? Show them some sugar…
