Denver Dessert Crawl – D Bar

We were treated like royalty when we were saved the best seats in the house – at the bar.  The bar is where you are up close and personal with the on-duty pastry chef.  We watched her in action creating plated and edible dessert works of art.  Tracy & I were mesmerized and hardly spoke when our mouths weren’t full.

The Cake & Shake is one of the most popular treats that Denver locals come for, and I’ve had it (several times), it really is MUST have.  But we decided to go with different flavors on this crowded night, and I’m thrilled we did.

Tracy’s fave – Creme Brulee – What can I say? I’m a sucker for the traditional, classic, simple Creme Brulee.  And if you follow us on Twitter, you will also know about my obsession with the first crack into that caramelized sugar.  There’s just nothing better.  D Bar’s Creme Brulee sure didn’t disappoint this custard loving girl!

Jenny’s fave – Ch Ch Ch Churros.  I have to be honest when I say, I really wanted to slap Tracy’s hand away when she reached for one.  My toasty warm, cinnamony and sugary sweet Churros were so amazing.  D-Bar knows how to do this Mexican delectable just right, serving it up with deep dark chocolate dipping sauce and Rum & Coke Ice Cream.  I about fell off my bar stool.

Like what you see?  Show them some sugar…
