My husband absolutely loves french toast and why not add a little something special and delicious like Nutella. This Hazelnut Spread is absolutely fantastic. I just want open the container, grab a spoon, and eat it by itself.
Adapted from Panini Express
- 8 slices of white bread or brioche (If you choose a thick bread, use only 4 slices).
- Enough Nutella to spread
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup half-and-half
- 2 tablespoons confectioner’s sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Whisk together the eggs, half-and-half, confectioner’s sugar, and vanilla
in a shallow bowl. Set aside.
Have your bread, Nutella, and slices of bananas ready to assemble the

slice of bread. Close all the slices like a sandwich and carefully dip

Have your griddle or panini maker preheated and ready. Watch the sandwiches carefully, you want their sides to caramelize, but not burn.
The bananas are cooked just enough and the Nutella is coating the bananas perfectly. I waited a few minutes before eating mine. Eat while it is warm, not hot. If you like, serve them with slices strawberries.
