Today we’re continuing our series on Fall TV Premiere cocktails, and this one is for a REALLY interesting looking new show. We should mention that if you googled “How to Get Away With Murder” and AREN’T looking for info about the TV show or related cocktails, you’re doing it wrong. First of all, you ended up at a drinks and desserts blog. Second of all, we’re pretty sure that the first step in getting away with murder is NOT TO GOOGLE THAT EXACT PHRASE! Seriously, sounds like somebody is going to need to watch the show.
How To Get Away With Murder is a legal drama starring the beautiful Viola Davis as a law professor whose students become embroiled in a murder mystery of their own. We’re a little fuzzy on the details until the show comes out, but we do know a few things. First of all, the pilot was written by a Grey’s Anatomy producer, so we know it should be entertaining. Which brings us to our next point. Having had family members go through law school, we’re really hoping that they skip over MOST of life as a law student. Murders and learning how to get away with them might be interesting, but if we have to watch 7 hours of a harried young L1 student struggling through a Legal Writing assignment, we’re changing the channel.
All that being said, we have genuinely been looking forward to this one for awhile. It seems like ABC’s been running commercials for this show for MONTHS! In the spirit of not making you wait, the recipe is below. It TOTALLY looks like something a TV lawyer would drink after a hard day in court… Or maybe something a prospective lawyer would drink after learning How to Get Away With Murder!!!
Here’s the recipe –
1 oz. Ungava™ Gin
1 oz. lemon juice
¼ oz. simple syrup
2 ¾ oz. champagne
Lemon zest garnish
Add Ungava Gin, lemon juice and simple syrup into a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a champagne
flute. Top with champagne and garnish with lemon zest.
