At the tail end of Celiac Awareness month, we have some good news for readers with gluten intolerance. The proposed magazine, GFF: Gluten Free Forever , has raised almost $95k on Kickstarter! Here’s a snippet from their press release:
On May 2nd, the San Francisco-based upcoming glossy food magazine GFF: Gluten-Free Forever secured $94,587 on Kickstarter to debut in print and digital this October.
822 backers stepped up during the 30-day campaign, including a wide range of food industry greats: food critics Jonathan Gold and Gael Greene; chefs Cat Cora and Hiro Sone (Terra, Ame); wine experts Shelley Lindgren (A16, SPQR) and Evan Goldstein; gluten-free authors Shauna Ahern and Silvana Nardone; food stylists Victoria Granof and Alison Attenborough; and more.
Contribution rewards ranged from a “thank-you” email to a copy of the inaugural issue ($10 – $30) to two full-page ads plus a two-year ad-rate lock ($5,000). Boosting visibility were feature articles about the magazine by Food & Wine, America’s Test Kitchen, Eater, Weelicious, and G-Free Foodie.
Editor and co-founder Erika Lenkert says, “We were blown away by the support from the magazine and restaurant industries as well as the gluten-free bloggers, companies, and authors. It showed us just how necessary and welcome this magazine is.”
