Local Delights at Perk Eatery {Phoenix}

Meeting Pauline at Perk Eatery was like catching up with an old neighbor that you’ve known for years. Her and her husband pride themselves on being a local spot for the surrounding neighborhood to enjoy. When the sun rises, you can usually find locals stopping in, being greeted by name and feeling as if they’re just stopping by Pauline’s kitchen for a bite to eat and a little good company.

What I love about Perk Eatery is their devotion to buying local. From their lunch and dinner items to her made from scratch delights, Pauline finds the best local products to deliver to us to enjoy.

“Someday” when I open a restaurant I want to mimic Pauline in fact that her menu is seasonal, just like the produce. What first nabbed my eye was a few weeks ago when she whipped up a dense lemon pound cake, just because she got a great batch of lemons!

This go around was a great order of Dark Amber Honey from a local Wickenburg Honey Company. Pauline mentioned that growing up she had spent several summers in Europe and this was the first honey out here in Arizona that brought her back to those beautiful memories.

After enjoying my Spiced Honey Cake {dessert} first, I just had to sample her Lemon Ricotta Pancakes smothered in fresh blueberries.

Yes I know it’s not quite dessert, but it was absolutely delicious!

Check out Perk Eatery’s Twitter page to see which seasonal item she’ll be featuring this week.
