Loco Kids :: Harry Potter’s Favorite Cookbook

What do you get when you add together one hungry Harry Potter fan and a Harry Potter cookbook?  Mouth-watering Cinnamon Pull-Apart Breakfast (lunch or dinner) Rolls, that’s what.  In an attempt to teach my child to cook, and to spend some quality time, I let my 9-year old daughter pick any recipe she wanted to make and eat.

Talk about sugar-loco!

Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook

We used the Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook by Dinah Buckholz.   The Cinnamon Rolls take about five hours from start to finish because the dough has to rise twice – once after you make it and again before the rolls cook.  But, it’s worth the wait. One roll is practically a meal! I mean, if pizza counts as a vegetable with the federal lunch program, I say we rally to get Cinnamon Rolls to count as one of our daily servings of grains or fruit!

Try other recipes from the Cookbook like Hagrid’s Treacle Fudge or Pumpkin Pasties.  View photos of more Harry Potter sugary treats.

I am so excited to find this! My girls are Harry fanatics as we have started into the 4th book. I found a recipe for Butter Beer that is delicious but I definitely need to check this out. Thanks Melissa!
