Loco Kids: S’more Cone? {Recipe}

If you’ve ever been camping you know that ultimately to make a  trip complete you must end each night with a S’MORE! Those gooey fire roasted marshmallows sandwiched between two crunchy graham crackers and rich chocolate suits almost every campers delight for an evening under the stars.

But what if I told you it could be better?!

WHAT? BETTER? How on earth can you make this age-old tradition better? And why change?

All reasonable questions, but I’ll tell you what – I’m game for the change.

While camping one weekend, a friend of mine mentioned a recipe she saw on Pinterest to make S’more’s in a cone. Taking mini marshmallows, Hershey‘s Chocolate and Peanut Butter, then layering inside an ice cream cone and heating on your campfire or bbq.

Peanut Butter you say? How about Cookie Butter? (See what I have to say about Cookie Butter HERE)

What we did was take our cones and put about 4-5 mini marshmallows in the base. Then added a section of chocolate and a spoonful of cookie butter. Then repeated the layering once more. Next we wrapped our cones with aluminum foil and placed on our camping barbecue for about 4-5 minutes.

A few tips we learned: Do not leave your cone on too long, the marshmallows will liquify and wont be as tasty. You want to make sure the marshmallows are on just long enough to fluff up and have the chocolate melt.

Another ridiculously awesome tip: You can make these bad boys at home. No more waiting for a camping trip to enjoy some S’More’s. Have them at home, whenever you’d like!

So tell me – are you game for the change?

    Boy am I glad my kids can’t figure out the internet yet… and therefore can’t sneak on your site and see this! Maybe one night I’ll surprise them with this as a dessert… they’d love me forever for sure! Until I tell them “no” about something that is. LOL.
