Outrageous Baking’s Coffee Cake Makes Taste Buds Outrageously Happy
We’ve all done it. Let’s not try to sugarcoat this tasty sin we’ve all committed: You’re standing in line, waiting to order your coffee. There’s three people in front of you, so you have the perfect view of the pastry case and just enough time to convince yourself it’s okay to get something. It’s the beginning of the day! After you’ve devoured the muffin, you spend about three hours trying to forget your crime.
Make your morning memorable, leave the guilt behind, and sink your teeth into Outrageous Baking’s delightful coffee cake.
What’s so outrageous about Outrageous, you say? Outrageous is a dedicated gluten-free, non-dairy, non-soy bakery. Based out of Boulder, Colorado, owner Pamela Fletcher was first inspired to bake gluten-free in her home due to a daughter suffering from eczema. What started with one loaf in one oven has exploded to coffee cake in five delicious flavors, fudge brownies, and even bags of all-purpose gluten-free flour for your baking needs. I’ll admit it — I’ve never been impressed with gluten-free foods. I’ve always felt I was eating cardboard. But when I unwrapped the Lemon Poppyseed Bread, I could tell it was going to taste good before it even reached my lips— it was so moist! And I was right; it was the perfect amount of lemon. The Cinnamon Coffeecake was laced with cinnamon crumbles and drizzled with cinnamon throughout, and the Cranberry Orange Bread was just as moist as the Lemon Poppyseed, with a hint more of sweetness and just enough zest. The Chocolate Zucchini Bread reminded me of my grandmother’s baking. The flavor was just enough to jog my memory of home and make my mouth happy. To get into the Autumn spirit, I ended my tasting with the Pumpkin Bread, and was so happy I did. The bread had a perfect amount of autumn spice and was just as moist as the others.
I don’t want anyone to feel weird about staring at the pastry case again. End the struggling relationship you have with that muffin— you’ve just got yourself a new love. It’s Outrageous Baking and it’s found in coffee shops all over Denver, including numerous Dazbog Coffee locations, and other various coffee shops in Boulder, Broomfield, Longmont, and all over the Rocky Mountain Region.
