Maple Bacon Donuts Done Right at Fonuts {Los Angeles}

Donuts and weekends go hand in hand at our house. Nothing says “hello weekend!” like a yummy freshly, baked donut. A few weekends ago my little family ventured out of the sprinkled donut realm and tried fonuts, (pronounced faux nuts), a little donut shop full of delicious baked or steamed, not fried treats. They were heaven!

With flavors like Carmel Apple, Rosemary and Olive Oil, and Blueberry Earl Gray it is safe to say these are not your average donuts. They donut chic!

We tried a few because obviously I couldn’t decide on just one. Hands down my favorite was the Red Velvet. I am a sucker for all things Red Velvet so there was no way I was passing this one by. A red velvet cake topped with a cream cheese frosting glaze and sprinkled with bright red sprinkles, made this donut look more like a mini cake but still had that donut flavor. My second favorite easily was Maple Bacon. The name says it all! Real bacon bits on a maple covered donut! This is the perfect breakfast donut! Salty and sweet!  Looking to try something completly out of the ordinary? Then check out the Chorizo Cheddar or the Rosemary Olive Oil. Totally not your typical donut, but oh so tasty!

With a menu full of flavors to satisfy anyone’s cravings, fonuts brings it when you are looking to fill your weekend morning with a donut that is out of this world good! And for you vegan or gluten free donut lovers, they carry a variety of just that so you, too, can satisfy your weekend craving.

Like what you see? Show them some sugar…..
