NEW from Angry Orchard – Green Apple Hard Cider

Angry Orchard Cider Company recently launched their newest cider style – Angry Orchard Green Apple. We have a few recipes we wanted to share with you!
Rosy Cooler Mason w Bottle
Inspired by the tartness and brightness of a fresh green apple, this gluten-free hard cider has a bright flavor balanced with sweet notes of honeydew melon and kiwi, with a dry, slightly tart finish. With the hard cider category only continuing to grow, Angry Orchard’s expert cider makers set out to create an innovative cider inspired by green apples, which typically have a sharper tartness than traditional red apples.
Green Apple is a great companion for a variety of foods like smoked meats, sharp cheeses, and sweet desserts.

Rosy Cooler

Rosy Cooler By Mixologist Hayley Jensen

2 medium strawberries, quartered

2 basil leaves, julienned (cut into thin strips)

2 lime slices

½ oz simple syrup

1 oz vanilla vodka

4 oz Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Cider

Mixology: Muddle strawberries & basil in simple syrup. Squeeze & add the 2 lime slices. Fill glass with ice. Add 4 oz cider. Stir to incorporate ingredients. Garnish with strawberry & lime slice.

Tasting Notes/Story: Angry Orchard Crisp Apple’s fruit-forward flavor and aroma inspired Hayley to recreate the aroma of a crisp apple – fresh, fragrant and soft with hints of vanilla. To bring out the herbaceous notes of an orchard, Hayley added basil and garnished with strawberry and lime to enhance the clean scent of an autumn apple.

Orchard Flowers

½ oz dry gin

½ oz elderflower liquor (we used St. Germain)

splash lime juice

3 oz Angry Orchard Traditional Dry Cider

Mixology: Pour gin, elderflower liquor, lime juice & cider into mixing cup with ice. Stir until chilled. Strain into martini glass. Garnish with lime wheel.

Tasting Notes/Story:  For an innovative take on a gin martini, Hayley played the floral elderflower character of St. Germain and botanicals found in Gin off the bittersweet, earthy but mouth-puckering flavor found in Traditional Dry.

Again, these are just two of the many drinks you can make with this new awesome cider. So give Angry Orchard and their delicious new cider, Green Apple, a shot the next time you are at the store. Check them out on their Facebook and Twitter for even more information!
