New Chocolaty Treat made from Chopin Vodka – DORDA Double Chocolate Liqueur!!

The people over at DORDA have been very clear –  this is NOT chocolate vodka. It’s chocolate AND vodka. The formula is simple. Tad Dorda of Polish family craft distiller Chopin takes chocolate and melts it down, then adds Chopin Rye Vodka to keep it liquid. That’s it: DORDA Double Chocolate Liqueur, newly released in 2014.

On top of the fact that you get to drink chocolate and it makes you drunk, these aren’t just any chocolate bars. DORDA Double Chocolate Liqueur is made with Chopin Vodka infused with luxury chocolate from E. Wedel, a Polish gourmet chocolate maker founded in 1851. Just think of what you can do cocktails-wise with pourable, intoxicating, liquid chocolate! You’re going to want to pace yourself, so we picked out one drink idea to start with.

dorda affogato

A classic affogato is a shot of hot espresso over ice cream.  To make a DORDA Affogato, serve 2 small scoops of ice cream (coffee, chocolate or vanilla), then top with 2 oz. (or 4 TBSP) of DORDA. To make it a DORDA Mocha add 1.5 oz. (2 TBSP) of DORDA and 1 TBSP of espresso or strong brewed coffee. Top with shaved dark chocolate. Enjoy!!!
