Hey All You Sweet Readers,
Jackie here from Arizona. I wanted to let you all know about my cookbook Our First Year: Cost Effective Recipes from the Home of Newlyweds which is filled with budget friendly recipes, a “how-to” helpful tips section, color photos of the delicious recipes and much more!
Cooking has always been a passion of mine, growing up in a family that made homemade meatballs every Christmas along with full spreads for each event we hosted. Once married to my husband I quickly realized that those things I learned growing up around the kitchen were not common knowledge. This came apparent to me when I asked him to “just sauté a few veggies” and he looked at me in a sense of confusion.
After a year of recipes and hosting events in our home, I was soon encouraged by my husband to write a cookbook. We were meeting up with so many of our newly married friends all tickled by the hospitality we provided. Over and over we heard from them the comments of “I don’t know how to cook” or “I only make spaghetti because that’s all I know how to do”, each one very intimidated by the kitchen and the thought of opening a cookbook; thus the concept behind my book was born.
My cookbook, Our First Year: Cost Effective Recipes from the Home of Newlyweds fits perfectly into the lives of real people looking for meals that don’t require ingredients from gourmet grocers, the knowledge of a culinary graduate or items they use once and never again.
Great for bridal showers or wedding gifts, this cookbook takes the intimidation out of cooking and makes learning fun and easy. And yes, to answer your question – there are plenty of sweet treat recipes included as well.
