Mention peanut butter and jelly my ears immediately perk up because this is, hands down, one of my favorite snacks and in many cases – meals! There is no denying it. I love a good PB&J sandwich. There is a story my mom tells that pretty much sums up this passion of mine. At the age of 3, I became obsessed with PB&J. I mean OBSESSED. So obsessed that I ate it morning, noon, and night EVERY SINGLE DAY for a month. This is commitment to peanut butter and jelly, people! My love affair with this snack did not end at the age of 3. I’m still in love with this sandwich and might be eating one as I type this.
Being a fan of PB&J as I am, imagine my pure delight when I got to try Magnolia Bakery’s take on a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Layers upon layers of peanut butter buttercream and grape jelly sandwiched between two slices of peanut butter loaf cake. You read that right! Sounds delish, right? One bite and it was “Peanut Butter, Jelly Time!” It was not your typical mom made PB&J either. It was a fancy one, and one that melted in your mouth. Seriously, this sandwich was fantastic. And my peanut butter tasting didn’t stop there. Next on the menu was their cupcake of the month, a PB&J that’s a rich peanut butter cupcake topped with peanut butter buttercream and filled with grape jelly. I seriously thought I had died and gone to peanut butter and jelly heaven!
Peanut butter is seeping through this quaint bakery’s doors, as it is Magnolia Bakery’s flavor of the month. You still have time to head down to the bakery and try their PB&J sandwich, one of their many delicious cupcakes, or even a peanut butter brownie or toffee bar. Both of which I tried and drooled over. If you are lucky enough to try these peanut butter concoctions I can guarantee one thing. You will be singing “Peanut Butter Jelly Time” all day long! I did, much to my husband and toddler’s dismay! And if you have no idea what “Peanut Butter Jelly Time” is, google it and thank me later!
