Upon a recent tour of the newly renovated Hyatt Regency in the Denver Tech Center, I was more than pleasantly surprised with Root 25’s ridiculous dessert selection. Ridiculous? Aside from the enormous amount of locally brewed beers on tap and in the bottle, this corporate gem truly stands out amongst typical hotel beer and restaurants.
What we’re here for: the dessert. I highly recommend saving all your calories and then some for the local drafts and signature desserts. Our favorite sweet treats included Pies in a Jar, Flourless Chocolate Cheesecake, and the Dulce de Leche Éclair.
I have to say the most surprising element of the evening were the desserts in a jar. So classic and reminds me of yesteryear. Flavors may change seasonally, but we enjoyed the Chocolate Caramel Pecan, Banana Nut, and Lemon meringue. Each delectable and delicious. It must also be noted the Burgundy Beet Sorbet served with the Flourless Chocolate Cheesecake was one of the highlights of my night as well as I don’t love beets all that much. It was heaven in my mouth. As for the Éclair? How can you go wrong with candied pecans and chocolate!
This was certainly a sweet treat for a serendipitous spot.
