One of the things that makes tequila sweet in our eyes is the use of agave in its production. Agave tequilana is the base ingredient of tequila, and its high production of sugars, mostly fructose, makes it suitable for the preparation of alcohol. It tastes great in margaritas, with juice of any kind, and paired with anything with a tang!
