Sweet and Savory Snacks that Love you Back @KOLATsuperfood

Start your holidays with this healthy treat!

With Halloween just a memory and Thanksgiving around the corner, we’ve all mourned the loss of candy corn and fun-size Twix for the season. It was fun while it lasted, but it’s time to incorporate substance again, and that can be such a challenge with candy, let alone any food! I’ve recently ran into a superfood that has changed the way I thought about dessert and  snacking. The product is KOLAT, a fruit and almond butter that can be spread on or baked into just about anything. You get 50% of your daily vitamins from one serving, and the taste is unreal, let me explain.

At first I was just spreading the almond butter on my English muffin— Blueberry Cinnamon Walnut is my favorite flavor. Then I realized the Cherry Vanilla Almond flavor is delicious on apples. What a fun and easy snack that tastes almost as good as candy. Before long, my sweet tooth emerged, and I put two and two together and made my own treat. I took KOLAT’s Dark Chocolate Coconut and a little bit of coconut oil, stirred them together and set the container in my freezer. In an hour I went back and realized I just made an awesome and healthy fudge! I broke off a piece and enjoyed the guilt-free confectionery. After that, I couldn’t stop. KOLAT has four flavors, so I splurged and tried all four. I added the Cherry Vanilla Almond to a cookie mix, with butter, vanilla extract, and a few more ingredients and I made cherry vanilla almond cookies. The Blueberry Cinnamon Walnut I throw into my food processor with all my veggies. It’s such a nice change from always adding ginger and it’s just as healthy. I’ll never graze the same way again. KOLAT is delicious and desserty.

KOLAT is new to the market this year, and it’s so yummy and healthy, it’s now available nearly nationwide. You don’t have to go far to find it in Colorado, so head to King Soopers, Whole Foods, or Natural Grocers, buy a jar, and try for yourself.
