The Art of Dessert {Denver}

Coinciding with the Yves Saint Laurent exhibit at the Denver Art Museum is a tastefully paired menu at the museum’s restaurant, Palettes.  Whether you’re goint to see the amazing works of YSL or just strolling by the 14th St museum downtown, the REAL must see art event is the dessert menu.   Pleasing to all of your senses, you’ll be in awe at the beauty of the 3 masterful creations.

This special menu consists of a Valrhona Chocolate Mousse, Apple Tart Tatin or covet this piece…..

Rhum Babas, glazed pineapple, rum syrup 

I’ll admit, I googled “baba”.  The definition making me pine for another helping of this even more.

ba·ba  (bäb) n. A leavened rum cake, usually made with raisins. (source)

This cake was not a typical rum cake, it was much lighter. The initial tastes had the flavor of pineapple citrus, but the rum, ooooh the rum, snapped upon more chewing.  Pop a bottle of French Champagne and you have the perfect apres museum treat.

The YSL Retrospective exhibit and special Palettes menu extend through July 8th, 2012.
