The Cove Trattoria – A Perfect Ending {Scottsdale}

I had the joy of meeting Daryl Monica, one of the owners at The Cove Trattoria – Italian Bistro in Scottsdale, Arizona. When he spoke of the joys of working with his father, Vinny and his childhood growing up in the food industry you could see the passion he has for making people happy through their food.

To start off our evening we enjoyed a wonderful pipping hot cup of The Nutty Monk! (Delicious right?!)

Nutty Monk

Made of coffee and Frangelico Liqueur topped with a chocolate whipped cream I was in utter comfort as I enjoyed this wonderful adult beverage!

Next up were the desserts. I have been sampling desserts for quite some time now but I must say, The Cove is now on the top of my list for places to go for desserts. Am I bias because I am ridiculously in love with Italian desserts? Maybe. But that by no means alters the fact that they have quality desserts made with passion for enjoyment. (Trust me – I can taste passion! )

Mini Cannoli’s and Tiramisu were next on the list and both were delicious. Their Tiramisu is a bit unique as the mascarpone layer is most of the slice and the saturation of alcohol does not overpower, as some Tiramisu’s are accustomed to. Probably one of my most favorite Tiramisu’s I’ve had the pleasure of sampling.

Nutella Pizza

Now this one takes the cake! Or the pie? The Pizza Pie that is! The Cove’s Nutella Pizza was absolutely ridiculously deliciously fantastic! (Did I use enough adjectives for you?) Made of their homemade pizza dough (which by the way is a perfect balance of chewy with a bit of crunch!) then layered with nutella, whipped cream, and caramel sauce. This paired with the Nutty Monk were the perfect ending to my wonderful evening!

Like what you see? Show them some sugar…
