The MANY desserts at the Inverness Hotel {Denver}

I could have spent an entire weekend dessert crawling through the fabulous Inverness Hotel in the Denver Tech Center.  Seriously, there are 5 different spots to enjoy dessert here.  Lucky me, I got to taste them all.  Chef Sarah, is a genius indeed.  Concocting truly unique flavors and textures for each location in the hotel, even if you’re a local, you’ll want a room just to visit each spot.

The hotel’s fine dining establishment – a quaint restaurant off the atrium of the hotel.  Amazing natural lighting, white table cloths and truly exquisite desserts, set this restaurant apart from the others.

Choosing just one dessert, from their daily menu, is a chore (they’re all nosh-worthy).  So hopefully my opinion helps you out –

Go for the Peanut Butter Cup – white chocolate peanut butter mousse and house chocolate sauce.  Pair this with the Bluefield Reisling and your taste buds will be doing a strip-tease on the table before you.  (not sure what that means, but it sounds swankier than “dancin’ a jig”).

Spotted Dog Pub – of the three desserts I tried from this venue, my fave?  The Mixed Berry Cheesecake.  Sounds ordinary, but actually quite EXTRA-ordinary.  Seriously.  Topped with a mixed berry compote and lemon sorbet – the flavor combinations are perfectly zingy and the cheesecake is wonderfully creamy.  A winning combination in my {cook}book.

Fireside LoungeTruffles by the fire, cocktail in hand.  What a relaxing and indulgent way to enjoy the view of the Inverness championship golf course.  Truffles that marry mind-blowing delicious flavor combinations like Mango Jalepeno, Strawberries & Champagne, and Coconut & Rum (my very favorite!).  Feel free to feed them to your mate, we’ll look away.

Garden Terrace & In-Room dining

Typical room service usually consists of a stale chocolate cake and over-baked cookies.  NOT at the Inverness Hotel, I was shocked to dig my fork into the 5 star desserts room service delivers fresh.  Choose from and incredibly rich Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake with chocolate sorbet and/or Banana Cake with salted caramel ice cream and praline crumble.  Moist cake loaded with fresh bananas and combined with the salty caramel, was heaven.  Though I’d be happy simply throwing back some of the home made praline crumble, it’s that good.

Baca’s special Valentine’s Day dessert menu –

In the mood for some dessert love?  Stop in at Baca and split a dessert, Lady and the Tramp style (minus the spaghetti).

My favorite – Almond & Matcha Green Tea Mousse Cake, with Champagne marinated Berries & Rosewater Macaroons.  Such a light and airy dessert.  The crust is actually made of almond paste so it gives off the same texture qualities as a macaroon.  Gasp!

Chambord Decadence Cake, accompanied by raspberry Thai chili sorbet and a brandysnap tuille (comes Gluten-Free if you ask).  Careful, that sorbet bites, but in a good way.

    All I had to read was Chambord & cake in the same sentence! I had strawberries infused with Chambord then dipped in chocolate at my wedding. All my friends walked around and nabbed them from the tables where some were left behind!
