Wednesday’s Pie, delicious any day {Denver}

You know what’s fun, in a really sick way?  Inviting my friends over for dinner, when they ask “what shall I bring”, I tell them “how about dessert”.  *Insert evil snicker here*.  You can see the gourmet fear in their eyes. I promise I’m not that big of a dessert snob. Wrong? Maybe?  Do I seek a lot of joy in that?  YES!

Thankfully, my best friend has great taste in desserts, so this wasn’t much of a prank on her.  She shared with us a Peanut Butter & Chocolate Pie from Wednesday’s Pie.  I had heard of this little pie place.  People speak of it as if they sell pie in the black market.  I imagine walking up to a heavy door, you knock three times.  600 lb “Bubba” opens, revealing only his eyes through a 2″x2″ wrought iron window, grunting.  You give him the secret password, Bubba then opens a larger door – shoving the daily pie flavor out, grunting again.  You toss your unmarked dollar bills in while scrambling to catch the pie.  You turn and run to get the heck out of there before he takes the pie back.

I assume that’s how it all works.  I digress… Back to the pie.

Peanut butter & Chocolate pie.  The thing I love about it is that it’s not super sweet, which in turn means you can eat a lot of it without feeling like your teeth will rot out of your head.  It’s a good thing.  Top your slice with a drizzle of chocolate, fresh whipped cream, and Bob’s your Uncle – you’ve got a delicious Wednesday’s Pie, that you can enjoy any day of the week.  I think I shall.

Like what you see?  Show them some sugar…
